Sometimes, ideas come, and build up into projects. Shades of Blue is one such idea, and one of such projects.

This 366 seconds exposure, taken in Cornwall with my Hasselblad X1D, Hasselblad XCD 21mm and the wonderful Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters is the first photograph I am sharing out of this project.

Thank you for viewing, best regards

Amazing, Vieri - mystical and otherworldly.

"Shades of Blue" would be (and probably is) a good title for a jazz album; your photo reminded me of my all time favorite album (of any kind): Miles Davis" Kind of Blue."

Thank you very much indeed Jer, glad you enjoyed it! Yes, Miles was definitely on my mind when I decided for "Shades of Blue", and yes Kind of Blue is also one of my all-time favourite albums!

Best regards,

Vieri

Thank you very much, glad you liked it! Only one go at 366 seconds, actually. I first compose and take a test shot at "normal" speed, and then I calculate in my head how long an exposure I'd need for the effect I want, and I go for it. I then check the result, and if everything is fine, I am good. I very rarely need to take a second shot, unless something happens during the first one (i.e., tripod moving, rain starting, wind, waves, and so on)

Best regards,

Vieri

Nice contrast between the haziness introduced by de long shutter speed and the well defined and textured rock.

Beautiful.
At first glance it looks like a mountain range emerging from the clouds.
