Took this a coup of years ago, and ran across it while looking at some other images. We were at least 20-25 feet from my front door.

Yes, just North of town, about 5 minutes.

We live in a culdesac, and I was headed out for a quick errand, and she was at the corner, in a neighbors yard. I put the truck in reverse and backed up to the house to run in and grab my camera. When I threw the front door open she was standing no more than 10' away. She was very young, and not at all stressed or agitated. She just wandered around eating whatever she wanted. The tree is the neighbors, and when she was done with that, she walked into their back yard for something different. They didn't even know she was there until I knocked on their door to give them a heads up (they have a 6 year old).

It was a fun experience. We used to see quite a few more around here, but the imported wolf population is exploding and the moose numbers are dropping.

Looks as if she's saying, "Hey, what's up?"
