Nice jimbo, I think the BW treatment is very fitting of ths shot, especially with the dark background.

How did you light the shot?

Jimbo.... if you keep hitting all the balls out of the park we will have to build a much larger stadium.

Once again, when it comes to floral shots you swing a big bat. Nice work.

The follow started out Yellow with a dark background. When I switch it to B&W I darkened the rest of the background out. It looks way better in B&W then the orginal.. Thank you for looking and commenting. JIMNO

Very nice!!! (Interesting how the conversion to B+W makes one appreciate the shapes that are seemingly non existent with vibrant colors...)

So true... I didn't like the orginal because the color, along with the way the light hit the flower, did not show the flower as well as the B&W conversion.. For 800 ISO, I was very happy with the final result. Thank you fro commenting Beaumont... JIMBO

Beautiful shot, I'm amazed at how well the B&W works on this.

Thanks Scott. I agree. The color one was almost one I would have deleted. Worked on this one for around 30 minutes on the conversion and was happy with the results. JIMBO

This is a nice shot. My only nit pick is that I feel you may have blown the highlights a little during conversion, hence the loss of detail. I would have opted to retain textural detail. Good effort.

There was only a limited amount I could retain, though I do agree. The flower was a bright yellow with limited lighting, which contributed to some lost detail. I tried to bring some of it back, back it would effect other parts of the flower. I continue to play with the shot in elements to see what can be changed. Thank you for commenting. Always a challenage to get just the right shot. JIMBO
