Sleeping beauty - Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo I
Camera: Sigma DP2 Quattro Photo Location: Madrid ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/60s Aperture: F2.8
Posted By: brink, 09-06-2019, 03:06 AM

Spotted this wonderful car in a garage in Madrid. As a rallycar this model dominated the rally championship for several years in 80/90's, after the demise of the infamous Groupe B. During the long production run Lancia built some 'special' models, and if I am correct this is an Evo I.

Captured with a SIgma DP2 Quattro. I love the red. So deep and rich. Typical Foveon sensor at work here, and a testament to why (for a certain groupe of people) these cameras have such an appeal.

Excellent photo. I love the "partial reveal" of the car (I remember their prominence in 80s / 90s rallies), and the lighting is perfect

I've always been rather intrigued by the Foveon sensor cameras, but never used one. The level of detail they can produce is very impressive...

One of the best automotive photos I've seen in some time. The composition, color and lighting are perfect! I wish I could say I'd taken this photo.

Great image of a great car. Was the cover already off or did you lift the corner for a sneaky peak?

Excellent capture and lighting. The Foveon sensor has always intrigued me but I've never used one. I lost interest in rallying after Group B, it seemed so tame afterwards.

Thank you for all the kind reactions!

Yes, I took the cover off deliberately for the effect of the 'strip tease'. Or, as a friend of mine said; it is like a woman lying in bed, only partly covered

The SIGMA cameras are very special indeed. The operating window is extremely narrow, like iso 100 to 200 narrow, but when it works, wooaahh it really shines. Especially reds and greens out of the Foveon sensor are amazing.
