Pentax 645 120 Macro Test
Lens: Pentax A 645 120mm Macro Camera: Pentax K-1 Photo Location: My Colorado Backyard ISO: 3200 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F8
Posted By: Colorado CJ, 09-10-2019, 05:56 PM

I bought a 645 to Pentax K adapter a while ago to use my 645 lenses with my K1 (mainly for astrophotography).

The adapter has just been sitting on my shelf unused for a few months now, but today I seen it and figured I should see how the Pentax A 645 120mm Macro lens works with the K1.

Stopping down the lens makes the viewfinder dark, but it is easier to use the Live View and focus peaking when shooting macro anyway. Anyway, I am liking what I am seeing with this lens! It was evening with no direct sunlight when I was testing it out, so I had to use 3200 ISO since I am shooting hand held.

Despite the not great conditions, I got some decent shots. I think I am going to be using this lens a lot more often on the K1

No question this is a professional grade image. The sharpness, color rendition and bokeh are most impressive to say the least. Optimum performance.

Beautiful colors and detail, and especially impressive that it is ISO 3200.
