From the hands of an 11 year old
Posted By: cwhans, 10-13-2008, 09:09 PM

All these shots were taken by my 11 year old daughter with my K100D and my 50-200 lens. Not bad if I say so myself. I am hoping to keep her interested in photography.

Pumpkin Train

Last Apple

Corn on the Cob

My dog Bo

Thanks for looking.

Nice work! Did she get tired of carrying that big kit around?

Fantastic! These pictures are outstanding. There's a degree of straightforward simplicity to them that is really charming. I would've been impressed even if it wasn't an 11 year old shooting.

She actually took quite a few pictures that day. These were just a few that I wanted to show off.

Thanks. I will show her this thread. She will be thrilled with the comments.

She has a wonderful eye. Very nice. Think you better buy her a camera of her own.

First shot is very very good. Make sure she doesn't switch to the dark side.

I will make sure she doesn't do that .

She does like to take pictures. Here's my thinking. I want to eventually upgrade my camera and when I do I will keep my K100D as a backup and have her tag along with me when I take pictures. That way I can make sure that she doesn't take better pictures than me.

The pumpkin shot is great; the fact that she selectively focused on the 2nd pumpkin shows she's really thinking about the shot.
I like the corn shot as well. It's a little bullseyed but it definitely works.

I love seeing kids taking an interest in photography beyond snaps with their cellphones. My boy is just 6mos old so it'll be a while before he's ready to show his stuff - but he's already very interested in the black box daddy has.
