Like the pic. It's an old Ford. Can see it has/had a V8...probably a flathead V8, by the V8 sign on the front.
Even though this is a Medium Duty truck, many of the cab's body parts are the same as the pickup of this era. I bet if it was a pickup from this time, it would of been taken up by a restorer or hot rodder, as old Ford pickups are much in demand, while their bigger Medium Duty or Heavy Duty brothers not so much.
Not too far away from my abode is a large '54 Mercury M 750 'Big Job' truck with a box mounted on it's chassis. Ford Canada, made Mercury trucks which were essentially Ford trucks with different trim/badging for Canadian Mercury dealers to sell. The Mercury trucks were made from the 1940's to 1968.
My family had a bought new, 1968 Mercury M 250 pickup truck as a work truck for the family business, back then. It had the Ford 300 cube inline six, 3 on the tree transmission. It was a tough old bird and one of the very last of the Mercury truck. Production of the Mercury trucks came to an end in March, 1968.
Thanks for posting these old abandoned vehicles. I love to see them.
