I really couldn't find an "M42 club" type forum, every search I do says "nothing found", so I created a new one, forgive me.

Anyway, I got this battle scarred, used up and bruised Hanimar 135mm M42 lens from a friend recently. Last night I put on the pentax adaptor, went out on to the balcony and decided to try it out a bit.

For it's condition, the amount of dust inside, the scratches and the amount of times it seems to have fallen down 500 stairs, I got suprisingly good focus and sharpness (not the best, but not bad).

I downsized it and compressed jpg to around 85% so bare with the artifacts.

So, to whom it may concern, here's a photo Ive done last night (long exposure on my k20d), and a photo of the lens itself following...

Was this handheld? If so you might want to try it on a tripod, you might find it's sharper than it looks.

hehe, unfortunately it was already on a tripod (with 2 s delay).
I think that's the best it can do or perhaps, Im not seeing the focus very well (as usual) through the viewfinder.
