Milky Way from Trail Ridge Rd, Rocky Mountain National Park
Lens: IRIX 15mm Camera: Pentax K1 Photo Location: RockyMountain National Park ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: Above 6s Aperture: F2.4

Astrotracer is doing ok in the central field for 60 seconds.
The site is Bortle 3. Elevation 11700ft.

This site is 11700 ft. elevation, and 1.5 hours drive away. Unfortunately, they will close this road for the winter soon.

Really nice shot! I'm always so impressed with astrotracer! what app are you using to plan your shots?

thanks. I am starting to really enjoy this. I have poked around to get information on planning this shot.

For planning timing the shot I used two apps.
The iphone app "Star Walk" gives a visual picture of where the stars are. You can adjust the time to see what the future sky will look like.
The web page ClearDarkSky tells when the sky is clear

For planning the site selection I used :
Light pollution map.
to look for dark places and google maps street view to look for a scenic place.
