there's always a bit of editing afterwards involved in my case, but it's mostly shadowrecovery, whitebalancing I do...here's a shot from the same evening, probably few minutes before or after- and zero editing applied:

note- on the edited shot the aurora was stronger- so parts of the display are actually overexposed

the weak ones appear quite colorless- they only show their green color in photos, since you expose for several seconds...on the strong ones you see all the colors with your eyes too
