Which lens with my Spottie?
Posted By: edl, 10-14-2008, 09:52 PM

I just finished building my own $17 flickr light tent the other night, and decided to bring out some goodies to test it out. Works pretty good I think.

Which lens is your favorite on the Spottie?

That's a very Mint Spottie you have there.
I am still on the lookout for one ... but hard to come by something like that down here.
2nd lens looks the part.

I'd love to try my Super Takumar 85mm f/1.9 on one of these though.

Indeed it is! I don't use it too often but it's a very cool lens.

LOL! good set of lenses on a gorgeous camera!

The Tak of course is the classic look. The second looks more modern despite its zebra-hood, as it is a fat (large diameter) lens. It does look way cool.

I agree with you, the CZ came with this camera and looks the part. I'd love to have that Super Tak too, it's probably a much nicer lens then the J-9.

They are hard to come by, but fortunately there are enough on ebay. Of course, the shipping to OZ would probably be more than the camera!

Thanks!

I think a Tak 50/1.4 would be the best looker, but I don't have one of those ATM. Maybe down the road...

I love the appearance of the CZ Zebras. Why can't they make modern lenses look this cool?

Here's a few more cameras I shot in the tent - a little off topic -

MX + M28/3.5. I paid $20 for the body (got the lens off an ME Super).

PZ1P + FA50/1.4.

And my foray into MF, Yashica-D TLR:

Fully Digital...you should see the red focus confirmation LED's on the viewfinder!

Best part about that light tent setup is it breaks down quickly and all fits into a small box. I was going to build the $10 Strobist cardboard box or a wood lightbox, but this one seems to be the best of those.
