This was taken on one of my first outings with the new-to-me Sigma 70-300mm APO DG Macro lens. I was so pleased with it..... especially the 1:2 macro capability, that I sold my Pentax 55-300mm ED lens. I liked the colors of this image, reminding me of an artist's pallet.

Wow, this is a gorgeous photo! It is rich and vibrant with beautiful bokeh. It is as if there is a tiny light in the center of the flower giving the petals a soft glow. Great job.

Thank you for the comments. For those who are interested in delving into the macro world, I can highly recommend the Sigma 70-300mm APO DG lens. It's a 1:2 ratio macro, but that's pretty good for most applications. And, they can be found for a quite reasonable price.
