Isle of Arran sunrise
Lens: Hasselblad XCD 21mm Camera: Hasselblad X1D ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1s Aperture: F16

I call the Isle of Arran's landscapes home. They are always familiar to me, and always new. They never disappoint, never let me down. Sure, sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate - but that's normal, and it doesn't matter: photographing the sun rising over what looks like a sculptor's work, is simply priceless 1.4 second exposure with my Hasselblad X1D, Hasselblad XCD 21mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters.

Back in the 1930's you got out to the Arran Islands in a currach, a very light tarred canvas rowing boat, a family friend made the journey, it was harvest time and the lads out there were short handed and wouldn't stop work to take him back so he had to join in to speed things up or so the story goes.

Wonderful warmth to the image. I like where you placed the sun in the composition.

The reflections on the wet stone add a lot to the composition and colors.

Very well done!
