A couple of Nebraska sunrise shots
Posted By: RoxnDox, 10-15-2008, 09:04 AM

Taken yesterday. These are from a hillside parking lot overlooking the Missouri River floodplain. No PP except resizing and a bit of cropping. The colors are pretty darn close to what the Mk I eyeballs were perceiving! The fog bank is sitting right on the channels of the Papio Creek and the Missouri River. Makes a nice contrast with those colorful skies being lit up by the sunrise...

Thanks Yesterday was one of my telecommuting days, and I had just gotten started on the 'puter when my wife called me and told me to get moving over to this spot and catch the sunrise with the fog over the river (she was getting on the freeway to take dog to vet). Took me a few minutes to get my gear and run over there, and the colors had actually faded significantly from their peak in the 5 minutes it took to get to my little overview location...

Timing is everything with these sunrise and sunset shots, eh?

Very nice. The fog laying in the valley really adds to the "atmosphere" (no pun intended).

These are beautiful images. The colours, cloud patterns & fog make them winners. #2 is my #1.

also consider to have a nice inspirational quote pasted on it for a poster in office.

I am more inclined to put something on it from the "demotivational posters" they produce at Despair, Inc.... But only because I find normal to be highly overrated!

The colour is excellent. You meter the sky well and the sentiment is well captured.
