It is! I'm glad that I could get at least one decent image of the temperate rainforest in New Zealand. I've always liked the temperate rainforest we have in Australia, such as the Beech forest on the Queensland border or the Beech forests in Tasmania, all of which are related to the forests in New Zealand. The family of plants which has been used as evidence of Gondwana is the Beech (
Nothofagus); which includes the Antarctic Beech in Australia (
Nothofagus moorei) and Silver Beech (
Nothofagus menziesii) in New Zealand as well as other species in South America. Fossils and pollen of Nothofagus species have been found in Antarctica.
