Hooded Merganser
Lens: DA*60-250 w/HD1.4x teleconverter Camera: K-3II Photo Location: Granite Bay, CA ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/1000s Aperture: F10

I cropped to this orientation because I preferred the look of the water over the conventional landscape orientation.

The alternating tones of the narrow ripples and duck's reflection make a wonderful image. Nice work.

I have never even seen a photograph of this bird. What an odd appearance! But very nice capture - especially with those gentle ripples causing the repeated reflections.

Thank you K2 to K50. They are very interesting small ducks. They usually stop over in my area for a few weeks on their migration south and north at a pond pretty close by.
