It really is a peaceful setting, there is a small chapel near by which hosts weddings on occasion. The place is called McClain Lodge.

Nice pix. When I saw your title 'Placid Lake' I immediately thought of the movie...'Lake Placid'...a lake of course that was decisively not peaceful. My druthers would be to stay at your Placid Lake.

Many thanks, I never saw the movie 'Lake Placid' but there is a 'Lake Placid' New York which hosted two Winter Olympics Games one in 1932 and one in 1980.
