Pigeon Problems

The thread "We get no RESPECT" started by Brewster15, and remarked on by ToddK, prompted me to post these two photographs.

See here:

We get no RESPECT! - PentaxForums.com

And ToddK's comment:

"They do look colorful and they are powerful fliers, but I only like them if they are nowhere near my roof." (The Bold and Red are mine)

So some time ago I took this shot, across my back neighbour's yard to his neighbour's roof:

Take note of the roof tile colour, Also the contributions by the pigeons (no doubt the thought behind ToddK's remark quoted above);

Then, I few weeks later I was looking back across my neighbour's yard and saw this (again, note the (changed) roof tile colour, and the fake owl hanging from the TV antenna!

Man against Nature - Nature wins, of course!!!

And I think the pigeons quite like their new "neighbour".

Ah, yes, "not near my roof". It is rare to get feral pigeons where I live (too far from any towns) but one moved in and sought to take up residence in the roof of one of my buildings a week or so ago. Only one way to handle that problem!! And it was done.

I like the way they ignore the plastic owl. The swallows that make a nuisance of themselves on our veranda also ignore our owl (same model).

LOL.. Love it! Yes they are messy creatures in an urban area. You need to encourage some peregrine falcons to move in

The pigeons are probably thinking "he lynched the owl he must like us"

These are great and the plastic owl is hilarious.
