Starling bonanza
Lens: DFA150-450 Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Ameland, the Netherlands ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/640s Aperture: F7.1

I hoped to see and photograph some rare birds on their way south in this nature reserve on the island of Ameland. Those didn't materialize. But there were a lot of starlings. Really a lot! Which makes it rather easy to get a sharp photo of a bird in flight.

Cheers,

Remco

Thanks Jer! It was really fun to be in the midst of this swirling mass of birds. At some point I was glad I was wearing something on my head; it wouldn't be the first time birds overhead 'release' something.

Even a much smaller group of Starlings make the other birds feel crowded out.

I can imagine that! The shrubs were full of them and they made a lot of noise.
