Full Moon Over the Treasure Valley
Lens: Sigma 70-300mm APO DG Camera: K-30 Photo Location: Idaho ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F8

It took a lot of attempts before I came up with what I thought was a reasonable shot of a full moon. This was taken not long after I bought the Sigma lens and this shot convinced me that it was a good purchase. LOVE that lens!

Um. It's not a full moon though... not a bad job, lens looks like it performed well. I'd personally tone down the orange though by cooling down the white balance.

Interesting choice of WB for this shot. Looks better than a flat grey.

I agree, it gives it a lot of character when the craters are quite visible.

Here in the desert, with clear skies and a mile less atmosphere, the moon is a neutral bluish-grey. This is about how we see it day in day out:
