View from atop Mount San Jacinto, California. You can see clearly Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley below. The San Andreas Fault runs parallel to Interstate-10 in the Valley. The Mountain Station sits at an elevation of 8200 feet above Sea Level. On clear days you can see as far as Mount Charleston west of Las Vegas, Nevada 100 miles away. Temperature is 30 degrees F cooler on the mountaintop compared to the temperature in Palm Springs (hottest City in California, almost as hot as Death Valley). Vegetation is also radically different with Pines and no Desert plants at all. Picture taken @ 28 mm with a Circular Polarizer to remove haze due to Los Angeles smog.
