Madonna in concert (lots of pictures)
Posted By: alohadave, 10-17-2008, 06:36 AM

I went to see Madonna in concert last night. I only had my 50-200 lens (had to be a bit sneaky), and I was shooting at ISO1600, wide open, but even considering that, I got some nice shots and enjoyed the show.

Am I the only one who thinks Madonna is showing a bit too much skin for her age? She's turning grotesque.

On a lighter note, the mood in your pictures is really good; and you're very lucky to have been able to sneak your 6 MP DSLR + 50-200 in without getting caught.

Don't think I would have even considered doing that considering the risk, but that's just me. I'm a bit of a chicken sh*t sometimes.

She's pretty hot for a 50+ year old.

Generally, the worst they can do if they catch you is throw you out.

+1 to what Leaf Fan says :-)
Nice shots - and nice to see you sneaking a camera in - I'm wanting to do that for an upcoming concert...

why would it be prohibited to bring a camera in?
or does this depend on the artist/concert?

Many artists/venues prohibit "professional" cameras... and that means just about any DLSR...

Yeah, usually it's the artist's restrictions. The stated restriction was cameras with a detachable lens. There were many people with P&S cameras. You could see about 50 on the main floor, and flashes all through the show.

We were in a suite, and one of her requirements was that no TVs be on, even before the show, plus no AC in the building, so it was about 85 degrees.

I think she looks great for her age....especially from a distance. I'm not sure I'd want to see a close-up.

The full crowd shot is awesome!

Thanks. My wife actually said to me that I need to buy the 55-300 lens too. I was nicely surprised when she said that. I was planning on it anyway, but it's nice to have spousal support.
