No Country for Old Men
Lens: Tamron 28-200mm Camera: K-30 Photo Location: Idaho ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F8

This is looking south, toward Northern Oregon and Jordan Valley. It's some very rugged terrain in the Owhyee Mts. Almost completely treeless and yet produce some amazing trophy elk and mule deer.

I've only been to Scotland once but it's beautiful, even in the winter.

Hmmm.... Scotland, eh? Interesting. Not quite sure what that has to do with my photo, but.... oh well. Thanks for looking in.

Thanks for looking in, Mikey. Sadly I don't have many landscape images of Idaho. To live in such a beautiful part of the world and NOT have a bin full of them is a sin.... but, landscapes have never been one of my main interests. Maybe I'll try to get some good snow scenes this winter and post them.

Beautiful landscape, well-captured! TFS. Yip, I would not be able to hike through there at my age.:-)
Best.

That is such a well-balanced image, Dewman. The contrast of the dark browns of the foreground on the right, the lighter middle distance on the left, and then the mainly white-capped peaks in the distant off-centre. The whole speckled all over with the white snow. And the clouds filling up what could have been too much empty sky.

An eye-pleasing image, all round.

Thanks for your comments. Your assessment of the image is pretty much what went through my mind while I was composing it. There were many different vantage points but they would have been almost impossible for me to reach.... so.... this was taken a little way from the roadside rest area. easy access.

The sky was very cooperative that day.
