Shredded ......
Posted By: J.Scott, 10-17-2008, 07:33 PM

Just a quick snapshot of the 'spare' on the back of a camper trailer.
I just found it unbelievable that; 1) they would save such a thing; and 2) they'd bolt it on the back for all the world to see.
What a mess!

My guess is they wanted to keep the rim, bolting it on was the only / best place to store it, and they could not cut the old tire away. I would have done the same thing (but probably covered it in a black plastic bag with tons of Duct tape) "if a woman doesn’t find you handsome, she should at least find you handy" (Red Green)

Nice job.. almost looks like art!

Saw one similar on a recent trip only the rim was stuffed too. A responsible person takes their junk with them so good on them IMO

They may also be pursuing a warranty claim, which would require return of the tire.

Trailer tires for the past few years have been coming from China, and there have been recalls and issues.

That is an unusual tyre in deed. How could that spare tyre be a backup though?

The spare is on the axle.
