Softly Comes Fall

I don't often have the time to really explore the capability of the vintage 135 f2.8 but when I do it always amazes me.

Lovely yellows and browns. Almost glowing.

Very soft light coming in through the leaves, like little spotlights.

Thank you. Hard to believe that this lens is a $30 thrift store buy. Except for the manual focus (eyes aren't as good as they used to be), I love this thing.

neat! I have an old takumar 135mm f2.5 that remains one of my all time favorites and even does time in wide field astrophotography on occasion. I paid 30$ for mine too. Ebay was a gold mine for a while there.

It was in fact. Now with the prices of fast glass going airborne, old manual focus glass is finding new demand.

Granted, the old 135mm f:2.8 is a fine lens, but it takes the remarkable eye you have to find the images you did. Very nice work.

Thats a really nice series of images you took with the old 135 glass... Pleasing to the eye and interesting, The first two I like the best with the "Bokah Berries " in the background. Nicely done!

On these I was shooting directly into the sun. Despite claims that it has problems with CA I only had a couple where it was noticeable, and it was easy enough to change my angle slightly to prevent it.

To the others who took time to look and comment, thank you so much for the kind words.
