Little Blue Heron
Lens: Pentax 150-450 Camera: K3 Photo Location: CT ISO: 400 Aperture: F14

We don't get many Little Blues in my area.. This one hung around a week or two this past month, probably en-rout to warmer Marshes. I spent a bit of time trying to get closer and One day stumbled on him almost too close!

Checking me out....

Intently hunting....

Wow, wonderful shots. The first shot especially with the contrasty background is excellent.

There was also a few Immature Little Blues hanging around. They are often mistaken for Snowy Egrets or Great Egrets because they are white as juveniles.. Unfortunately they were more skittish and did not let me near...I did get a few in Flight, but tiny tiny pics far off.. This image is a real large crop(thank god for the K3..on my k20D this would not have been possible)...not very good I know, but I thought some might find it interesting to see the immatures of the Little Blue Heron...
