This is one of the very few birds that have visited my back yard that wasn't a sparrow. I think this is called a Dark-Eyed Junko?

Neat Bird! We don't get that one here in CT. It is a Dark Eyed Junco as you thought.. I think it part of a group of them Called "Oregon" according to my Petersons Field Guides. Very attractive little birds. We are just starting to see our Juncos coming into the state.

Nice capture!

Thanks, Al. When I lived up in the Rockies, we had all kinds of very colorful birds, but not so much now that I'm a flat-lander.

One of the few birds we have visiting the feeders here in western Oregon. Now that the butterflies are gone will have to concentrate on the birds again.

Too bad that you don't get other birds - but this picture is good - and I could spend all day just feeding sparrows and squirrels.

Great shot. We get half a dozen of these Juncos that stay around all winter. Great entertainment.

Good capture of a very cute little bird - its pink(ish?) beak against the dark head gives it real character. Good catch, Dewman!
