The Graveslab Of 1725, Roderick Campbell
Posted By: Kerrowdown, 11-02-2019, 04:42 PM

Both the resolving power of the K1 and it's SR to me still is just truly amazing.

This was taken inside St Clements Church, Rodel, the only light being from a wee window on a side end wall.

Shot handheld, "Special Lady” (Pentax-A 50mm F1.2) @ ISO 100, F1.2, 1/40 sec

Similar to the ones at my father's hometown cemetery. I'm always amazed by the way they used to spell and the aesthetics of the skulls.
The darkness also captures the atmosphere of these quiet and mostly lonely places very well.

What's your exposure time? That's impressively done for sure. I agree that the nice light/dark areas really compliment each other.

As I said, “Shot handheld, "Special Lady” (Pentax-A 50mm F1.2) @ ISO 100, F1.2, 1/40 sec”, the rest is down to rule of thirds... and luck.

Very nice image. These places make you think about the individuals buried there. Generally I find they invite contemplation.

This was quite a remote, solitary place with a dampness and fousty smell about it, for the living... not somewhere that I'd choose to stay.

I suppose I need to pay better attention. I really did look for that!

It happens... especially so at the age of the old Kerrowdown.
