Nice shot. I remember when they were still building them at the former McDonnell Douglas assembly plant in Long Beach, CA. I believe the last one rolled out of there in November of 2015.

Thanks, they are some pretty awesome aircraft, McDonnel Douglas designed one heck of an aircraft. The Air Guard 172AW has seven at JAN which replaced the C-141 which they were flying. Thanks for the visit!!

It's an unusual angle which emphasises the size of the aircraft. It's impressive to see these fly, and they can stop on landing in a surprisingly short distance.

Thanks, Rob, when I got this shot I was standing in one of my "plane spotting" places and I was getting shots tracking the C-17 inbound on final as the plane came over head I had to zoom out to 45mm to get this shot. It was pretty close and probably less than 1/2 mile from touch down. The C-17 is awe inspiring coming overhead that close!
