Yesterday there were 17 emergency level bushfires in Northern New South Wales. Two people died and at least 100 homes lost. Meanwhile in the south it has snowed. It's a bit cooler in the north today, but the winds associated with the changes from hot and cold air masses are causing the fires to spread. There's no prospect of rain. The weather is unstable and bizarre.

We'll keep our fingers crossed that you get some good rains soon.

Thank you! It is sad - Japan has had floods while we have had drought. To have so many fires at the beginning of the warm weather is unprecedented. At this stage we've been lucky where I live that it has been reasonably cool. Today it was 40C in Perth, and in a few days it will be 36C in Brisbane, which doesn't bode well for the fires up north.

Check the map. Tasmania is not just a long way from NSW, but much further south. We can get snow at any time of the year here. In fact, now in November, some areas in the south of the state had snow this week.

Now that we've figured out how to turn our images into floating 1s and 0s, they're gonna last a long time! There's probably an alien radio-telescope, on the other side of the galaxy, trying to make sense of it all

A great image of an old steam engine (I thought loco too).

It would seem your weathers even more bizarre than ours... we have a saying here, if you don't like what you see, wait twenty minutes.
