Attention seeking tree

This old tree was on in the middle of a path and it stood out from all the other trees, being much larger and wrapped in vines.

Interesting shot, I like it. Your shot is extremely contrasted, did you enhance contrast somehow?

Thank you for your comment, yes I added contrast intentionally. Maybe I went too far but i wanted the path to be light and the tree to be bold, maybe I could have flattened out the surrounding canopy but I left it as is.

I like the way the enhanced contrast emphasises the creepers around the tree.

I wouldn't say there's too much contrast. For the type of shot it is you want striking texture. So well done

It is a nice place and photography gives me the chance to explore it more and more.

I agree that the increased contrast adds to the image, nice shot.

impressive! nice b/w processing. contrast looks good to me, but large it would look bit different. converting to forum size adds bit of contrast. lots of my photos are quite contrasty and i even didn't post some of them after resizing, it seemed too much highlights after conversion.

Very silvery indeed! It's a stunning contrasting that (to me) somehow boosts the sharpness...what did you do in the PP? If no secret...

No secrets here. In Lightroom, I increased contrast, increased whites, decreased blacks and increased clarity (which adds contrast to the mid-tones) and gives a sharper looking image.

I do play around with other things in Lightroom but I think these are the main points that gave the effect.
