It's melted together from multiple colorized glass fragments.

The background color makes for a very pleasing eye photo. That said, having built a bit of jewelry over the years I would like to see more contrast in the background allowing the detail of the subject to be more discernable. Thanks for sharing this shot as it sparks two of my interests. Well done to both you and your mother.
