Can't Get this light the way I want it
Camera: Pentax K3-II

As the sunsets the eastern horizon picks up the sunset colors, but I have yet to capture with any camera what I see with my eye.

Have you tried bracketing your shots? Sometimes the underexposed ones have the best color.

How are you post processing? I need a fair amount for good sunset representation.

It is very nice.

Go manual and underexpose.

I came back to this...I spent about 5 minutes in LightRoom editing this, is this closer to what you saw?: Never mind the artifacts around the moon, that's caused because of the low-resolution JPEGs.

If this is winter, what you're looking at is the Belt of Venus - it's also visible in the west just before sunrise. After the sun sets, this pink band - the last light of the sun refracted around the atmosphere and reflected back from atmospheric dust and water droplets - will lift above the horizon as it fades leaving a blue band above the ocean: that is Earth's shadow. To best capture the Belt of Venus, use a longer lens and try in winter when you get longer to observe it. It's one of the joys of winter light in more northern latitudes!
