Good photo. I've taken quite a few photos of Hawks with the 55-300 and i know how difficult it is to get close enough to get that kind of detail.

I saw a hawk across the street from the house, but took it to be a Coopers hawk. I'm not sure which one it is, but I'll take your word for it.

We have one of these around the back yard, and it presents a hazard for the birds around the feeder. It swooped down and picked up a vole or mole, which helps, this past weekend.
