U.S. Marines T-45C on short final to 16L at JAN

14 July 2017, I saw that these guys were back shooting approaches at JAN yesterday and had to get some better shots of them. My wife and I were getting out of our car at Lowes which is close to the airport and I looked up to see a pair of T-45Cs in left echelon formation passing over at a pretty high speed. They did a carrier break over the airport and set up for some approaches. I went to the airport today at around the same time I saw them yesterday and they were shooting approaches already. I wanted to set up in my usual position for approaches to 16L but there was a whole construction crew at my location complete with 8-10 dump trucks full of dirt. I moved out to a road to try to get a few shots but had a very limited field of view which left me very little time to aim and shoot, everything worked out pretty well. it was good practice. I got some really strange looks from motorists passing by on the road. I was fully expecting the Flowood Police to roll up and ask me what I was doing.

The Goshawk is based on British Aerospace's Hawk if remember correctly.

Nicely captured images.

Have never seen one of these in real.
The BAE Hawk yes, ever seen them before.

Thanks, the T-45 Goshawk was originally designed and built by Hawker Siddley in England as the Hawk and its contracted by McDonnell-Douglas for the Navy and Marines as a training aircraft

Many thanks. The Hawk was originally built by Hawker Siddley which was succeeded by British Aerospace and then BAE Systems.

Regardless of its origins, that's a great shot of a very nice bird.

Almost looks like a VTOL-capable craft with those proportions. Great shot!

Ah, I was also going to say that it looks like the Hawk, which the RAAF uses as a transition aircraft to the F18 Hornet. Nice shot!
