I love looking at and photographing ferns. They add so much to a forest scene.

Nice lighting on the fern leaves there, ToddK. The image really evokes the very pleasant memories of having been is similar places. You are right: ferns are the definitive elements of this kind of forest.

Really nice color and play of light and shadow. Also like the earthy texture of the forest floor.

Thanks Dave. There are so many beautiful scenes in the forest. I could spend the entire day walking around taking photographs.

I do like that photograph. Excellent use of F stop and look at the bokeh as a result ! The lighting is really good, but more importantly you knew how to use it to it's best advantage. Great composition, detail in both fern leaves and earth directly underneath, is exceptional, IMO.

A wall hanger.

If I was a Dentist, which I'm not...and had a dental office...which I don't.... I would hang this in the office....accessible..to view by patients...to gaze at and take their mind off of things...before they...go in for serious dental work.

BTW, I had a implant installed a few months ago by my dentist.

All kidding aside, this is an exceptional photograph.

Thanks so much for your great comments, and I get what you are saying about having something to look at when at the dentist. I have been going through grafting and major dental work since April, and I can relate to having a stress reliever during the procedure.

Now, I hope this isn't too "blue" but many years ago, I had a vasectomy, under only local aenaesthetic, so my eyes were wandering around near the ceiling, and found a little sign to think about:

You and me both, especially when they’re so beautifully lit as this, well captured indeed.
