Just Taking a Break
Lens: DA35mm Limited f2.8 macro Camera: K-3II Photo Location: Granite Bay, CA ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/25s Aperture: F9
Posted By: ToddK, 11-19-2019, 10:42 PM

This photo is in the gallery, but I wanted to post it here to show that you can actually photograph a live insect with the DA35mm Limited Macro if you get one that cooperates. I don't know why this fly stayed put, but I had the lens practically touching it

The bug wanted the attention. You like the Limited 35mm much? I've been wanting to replace the plastic 35mm with the 35mm Limited Macro for a while.

Maybe because you were so close, it could see its own reflection on your lens and thought " That is one FINE looking bug." .................

Great image Todd.

I don't know or care how you managed this... but it's a truly cracking image.

The 35mm Limited is a fantastic lens, one that I would never part with. I use it more for buildings, landscapes, etc. than for macro.

That is what I was thinking, that it was seeing itself. Thanks PJV!

This was very well done, fantastic detail. The hot pink really sets it off.

Thank Bertrand! The end of the lens hood was maybe 3" away. I took some from farther away and since it didn't move I kept inching closer. It never flew off.

Thanks GRB! Yes, the fact it was sitting like that in the azalea bloom was pretty amazing.
