Impressive "colors" ! I find this Black and White shot really beautiful. But I wonder why lavender and leaves on the tree are so bright? Is it infrared?

Yes you're right, it's with an infrared filter !

I'm curious, did you use "only" a IR filter on a lens to get this image? Or did you surgically remove the IR filter in front of the sensor?

I removed the original filter on the sensor and replaced it with the IR one, but as it is not cheap to make it done, I tried myself to do it and it was not really easy... There was way too much dust the first time, there are still some after the second operation but for some reasons it's not that simple... so I consider that it is good enough now..

Beautiful photo! It's well balanced and has great perspective.

I'm interested to find out; I know that focal length is slightly different for IR than for visible light, so can you get good bokeh in an IR image?

As I usually try to have more landscape on focus, I have not tried yet that, but next time I use it I'll try just to see how it looks !

I've a soft spot for good IR images. Do you focus in LV to avoid correcting normal AF?

Lovely! In IR or just a B&W conversion? Either way, it's great!

I really like a well made B&W, the contrast to get all the details in the tree and everything else, it is wonderlfull.
