Came across an old, abandoned house out in the country. I just kind of liked the lines created by the walls, porch floor, and the chair.

I like this one a lot. Subject matter. Texture. Subdued colors. The definition of rustic.

I really like this as well. Great looking old wood. The other element that I like is the reflection of fall colors in the window.

I like the symmetry and the preservation of the image of aged wood; however, I most appreciate that it stimulates the imagination of those who occupied the dwelling.

I really like it! That weathered wood is so interesting, and you've got a nice composition going on with the chair and window. Surprised the glass in the window is intact!

Thank everyone for the nice comments. The house was a nice find, and I have a lot of shots from there. There's also some of the interior taken through windows, with an old piano and furniture. You have to wonder what happened where they just left and didn't remove everything. They took a lot of stuff, I imagine. There were no pictures or knick-knacks, but there was also a fair amount of furniture there as well.

I'm so glad someone noticed that. I liked that too!

I agree. The aged wood etc. is what caught my eye, but I did stay wandering around wondering about their situation. But I guess it'll be left to our imaginations.

Well, there are a few bears around here, but it's actually a VERY peaceful place. There were beautiful autumn colors with a slight breeze carrying the songs of birds

The whole house was in pretty fair condition, although weathered and obviously unoccupied for a LONG time. No windows broken, or any other obvious damage. It was pretty isolated. I don't think bored kids had come across it or anything.

That does sound peaceful. I'm sure I would still get anxious by having my imagination run wild being that alone haha.

I'm not much of a USA country music fan, but this shot reminds me of the song lyrics "Grandpa, tell me 'bout the good ole days."
I can almost hear the creaking of the porch floor boards as Grandpa rocks back and forth.
Very cool shot.
