Portraits with a bit of attitude!
Posted By: Falcons, 10-20-2008, 07:24 AM

Enjoying playing with B&W conversions at the moment - this series is of my eldest boy (he actually does smile sometimes).

Going for a dark, moody mysterious look - and emulating various film styles as much as possible.
Lighting was flash mixed with a bedroom lamp - shot in raw, developed in Silypix and B&W conversion thru Silver Efex Pro.

Hope you like em - let me know either way.

How does the BW conversion work in that software? Do you mix channels to convert to B&W?

You can try it for yourself if you like - you download a 15 day demo from this site
Nik Software, Inc.

The site will explain what it does a lot better than I can.

(PS If I've broken any rules here please delete this - I have no affiliation with NIK software)

I really like the first one alot... the moodier the better.

I like the others too, but the effect really works with the facial / body expressions in the first.
