Not cropped; however, long glass and a relatively safe situation.

I love that shot! Wow, you must've been fairly close, even though you used a 300mm lens. I'm sure I would have opted for safety as well.

I have been in some very precarious situations with bear, none when I was shooting with a camera and each with their own story. This was a very safe situation for both I and the bear.
