This yard seems to say, "Send me a letter but don't trespass."

Am I wrong, or that pole is not a pole? Rather a former tree still there and alive?

I think the one with the mailbox is not still living but I'll have to take a closer look next time I'm there. It would be funny if it is a living tree stub.

It saves the Postie a wee walk everyday, not having to put it through the letter box in the door.

A lot of cities around here have passed a law that you have to have the mailbox on the street now and only those homes that are 'grandfathered in' with a box on their door can keep them there. Once that home is sold, the new resident has to put one up on the street.

I'm not a fan but I guess the Post Office is trying to get more done, more quickly.
