Backcountry skiing in Finnish nature park
Posted By: jochenmaas, 12-06-2019, 03:03 PM

This photo was taken during our backcountry skiing expedition in really cold temperatures (-30degrees °C during the day, -40°C at night). My pentax camera worked without any problem at -30°C, but at night it started to refuse taking shots sometimes which is totally normal I think at -40°C. The low sunlight during the whole day in north Finland is so magical!

Wonderful scenery !
My winter vacation this year, 2021, was cancelled due to Covid-19 ! Maybe I get a chance in 2022 ;-)

Absolutely beautiful! I hope to one day experience snow like this. We don't get much snow in South Africa.

Beautiful shot! Makes me want to get that 15mm lens. What other lenses did you bring?

Wow! Magical. If I let my imagination run wild, the front bushes look like skiers frozen in time 🥶

This appeals me (who is unable to go outdoors for skiing).
