This is a wider view of the detail picture of a "mishap waiting to happen" published previously. This gives a better understanding of the scale of the landscape.

It does give a better idea of scale. Now, if you had been sitting on top ….

(It's for Pentax, you understand.)

The second picture gives some idea of the scale of the landscape. The "split rock" is about the size of a large van.

I sure wouldn't stand underneath it, especially on a windy day! Of course, it may take a tornado or earthquake to dislodge it. Love the colors.

From time to time famous rocks do call down. The shore of Lake Superior lost one in a storm this winter.

Wow, I wonder how this can happen. Maybe this is a piece of rock that fell from above and is still standing by some weird physic rule? Thanks for sharing.

This sounds like the beginning of a YouTube video that ends badly!

(I'll still watch, but only from way over here.)

Given the scale, I doubt a single man could make this fall.

I think it would be even quite safe to land on the top, but I'll let more courageous photographers try.

If it falls, how high is the drop?

It must have been over 100 feet (30 m) high.

Nice subject. I might just have the two pinnacles on the right in the shot, vertical orientation, but there seems to be a lot to work with at this particular site!
