Looks a bit like my garden in Virginia. Only we were 'trying' to grow vegetables...

It was probably one stack one person set up, then other people passing by added to it. It is kind of strange to encounter this beside the trail.

Cools shot - reminds me of some rocks climbers / hikers leave behind - all arranged in different patterns - in the Badlands Park
