Sci-fi, fantasy, historic cars

At the Petersen automotive museum in Santa Monica, CA.

Year 2028 Dodge Caliber police cruiser from Robocop, and later reworked for TV's Powerless.

Year 2089 Weyland RT01 Transport from the Alien prequel, Prometheus.

Of the three built for the movie, only this one has an interior suitable for filming.

It's based on the Czech Tatra T813 military truck.

SJ-7 Peacekeeper Transport from the Hunger Games, based on a Ford L8000 dumptruck.

1992 Ford Explorer XLT from Jurassic Park, and Walmart's Famous Cars commercial.

Based on a 1932 Ford Roadster, this was used in Iron Man and Iron Man 2.

From Guardians of the Galaxy 2, this is a 1978 Ford Mustang II King Cobra, the only year with a special limited edition performance package.

Body armor from Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3. Later versions are sleeker and lighter, but all have the arc reactor in the chest.

This Audi R8 sculpture was made to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Audi and Marvel collaboration. It mimics the Iron Man suit assembly.

Historic motorsports locations around SoCal. The Petersen museum is located at the pin immediately to the left of the name "Los Angeles".

Thanks for looking!

Love that wide-angle shot of the Ford GTE, one of my favorites from the modern Le Mans era

I should mention these are temporary (some months?) exhibits. If you search for "Petersen museum" in the PYP forum search box you will find several of my posts from previous visits. From memory, they include Ferraris, Dan Gurney collection, the Mullin collection of Bugatti cars and art, low-riders, Silver Jewels, the Mullin collection of vintage French cars, and Phil Hill cars and memorabilia.
