This stuff is everywhere around here and I've taken a lot of shots of it. But I only get just a few images of it I like. I like this one.

Great macro! I've tried macro shots of lichens, but I haven't managed one that I like.

Nicely captured. I think it's because you have enough DOF to get all the lichen in focus, but still have a great bokeh.

Aye we're oot the door with the stuff here too, but the good news is...

"Lichens are widely used as environmental indicators or bio-indicators. ... If the air is clean, shrubby, hairy and leafy lichens become abundant"

Nice macro shot. My wife would like to experiment with some of that. Some lichens give great colour as organic dyes. The colour of the lichen itself has no relation to the dye it produces.

Thanks Rob. I lost count long ago how many lichen images have been deleted from the memory card without even being viewed on my computer.

I've noticed the similarities to coral as well. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks swip. I agree. With so much of it around I'd have thought it would be easy. Glad to hear I'm not the only one.
