Evening in Joshua Tree Nat'l Park, California.
Lens: DFA 28-105 mm Camera: Pentax K1 Photo Location: Joshua Tree, CA Shutter Speed: 1/25s Aperture: F9
Posted By: RICHARD L., 12-18-2019, 08:16 AM

I spent the evening roaming this part of the Park, searching for nice visual compositions. I found this single tree set against a rocky hill background resplendant with evening sidelight. I can't believe my eyes how SHARP this DFA 28-105 mm lens always is.

Certainly sharp, and those colors want to jump out of the monitor and punch me in the face!

It's sharp, all right, but is that sky or copper-ammonia complex?? A bit too saturated, just a bit.

Nice shot although I find the colours a bit too intense. It is hard to get that late afternoon light quite right - I know from experience.

My K1 is set for "VIBRANT" colors. I didn't use a CPL and it was late in the day, just before sundown. I bracket and keep only the one that renders the scene best.

Lovely colors! I need to get out there. Haven't been there for a few years now.
