Originally posted by Dale H. Cook I frequently drive within a few miles of this bridge, but this was my first visit. It was a gray day, and since the bridge is in a rather narrow creek valley lighting may be a bit problematic, but I will return in the spring. This is without post aside from punching it up a little to compensate for the gray day.
I have base jumped from the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayetteville West Virginia, during Bridge Day....876 feet from top to bottom, second highest bridge in the USA and worlds longest arched bridge, beautiful area to drop into. That was back in 1989 when base jumping was done with skydiving gear, Bridge Day happens at the third Saturday in October. Jumped from her 3 times so far, with landing in the river once. Cheers !!
