No Room
Lens: Pentax-DA 55-300mm PLM + 1.4X TC Camera: Pentax KP ISO: 2200 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F11

Even Sparrows can be interesting sometimes. I noticed this scene out the Den where I'm sitting at the computer. The Bird Feeder is 'doing land office business" here. When the Sparrow at the right arrived, he discovered at the last minute that there was really no room for him - he had to buzz off to the tree and wait a minute until several of those already eating had their fill and left.

Nice shot! I had a feeder for a few years and it would get crazy sometimes!

Thank you for your comment,

Yes, I get quite a view out this window - and a new appreciation for the various types of Sparrow. The Blue Jays are prettier, and noisier; the Sparrows just go about their business.

Nice shot! I maintain a big brush pile near my feeders that has a year round colony of sparrows(among others), and I see something like this often during the winter. I've taken to scattering some seed on the ground(under an old table when it snows) to help ease the pressure.

Nice shot! A familiar scene. Many little battles and arguments occur at my feeders as well.

Thank you for the comment.

Yes, they will eat from the ground also, as I regularly demonstrate by accidentally spilling some on the ground ..... where they compete with the local squirrels and deer.

Yes, to us it is a photographic opportunity, but for them it is a series of life-or-death struggles.
